History

The temple, more than 100 years old, has a Chandraprabhu idol that is 2700 years old and belongs to 4th era (Chaturtha kaal). A 1300 year old Mallinath idol is also miraculous. When Mughal troops tried to destroy and steal the temple, they became energy-less and could not move. The soil from the excavations has medicinal value and know to cure many diseases. T he temple was renovated in the year 1917 .
