Shwetamber Jain Temple in Khambhat, Anand Kansari Parshwanath Tirth, Khambhat : Mulnayak: Nearly 33 cms. high, white – coloured idol of Shri Kansari Parshwanath in the Padmasana posture. Tirth: It is in Kharvada in Khambhat. Historicity: Kansari is an ancient village of Khambhat. In ancient times, there was a huge population of Jains living here. There were many Jain temples here. One such temple was the alluring, ancient and famous temple of Shri Bheedbhanjan Parshwanath. The idol of this Parshwanath is captivating, incomparable and influential. As time passed, the Jain population decreased and hence this idol of Bheedbhanjan Parshwanath was brought to Khambhat. This idol was installed in a newly built temple in Kharvada in Khambhat. As this idol was brought from Kansari, this Bheedbhanjan Parshvanath came to be known as “Kansari Parshwanath”. This idol is ancient and very influential and if worshipped with great faith, a devotees wishes are fulfilled. This idol was worshipped for hundreds of years in Kansari as Bheedbhanjan Parshwanath and now in Khambhat it is being worshipped as Kansari Parshwanath.
