History
Shri Munisuvrat Swami Jain temple was established in 2003. The magnificent white Rajasthan marble temple is located in Vinaya Marga, Siddhartha Layout,Mysore. Lord Munisuvrat Swami is twentieth Jain Thirthankar of the present age. Lord Munisuvrat was born to Sumitra Raja and Padmavati Rani at Mithila(ancient) in the HariVansh clan. Also known as Lord Shanishshwara (Navgraha Nivarana), He is revered and believed to ward off the evils and bad omen in one’s life, and hence, the temple attracts many worshippers on Saturdays (Saturday being a ‘Shani’-wara). Other than the main deity, the temple also has Lord Parshwanathswami, Lord Kunthunathswami and Lord Suparshwanathswami. The magnificent temple also consists of two smaller sanctorum’s that has demi-gods and goddesses. Open to the visitors between 6.30 am to 12 pm in the morning and then, 5.30pm to 8.30 pm in the evening. This temple has become a landmark and a very significant piece of architecture with the conceptualization of the ‘dev-viman’ in the city of Mysore.
